New York Office, a management firm founded five years ago, has grown through the purchase of bicoastal Alexander/Vienot and Los Angeles–based Ria Images.
Although the sellers’ price was not publicly released, sources put the deal at roughly $10 million.
The enlarged company will be led by co‑founder and president Julianne Hausler together with Carolyn Hill, who heads commercial sales.
Both Alexander/Vienot and Ria will be folded into the New York Office brand, bringing the agency’s roster to about 75 clients.
The combined talent pool focuses on below‑the‑line crafts for commercials, music videos and features — cinematographers, editors, costume designers, visual effects specialists and composers.
New York Office is organized into multiple divisions: one representing writers and directors, another for commercial directors and production companies, and the broader management arm for technical and creative crew.
Anthony Bregman, head of production at Good Machine, praised the expansion, saying Hausler’s group has become essential to local filmmaking because they pair creativity with a practical understanding of different budget levels.
Hausler emphasized the firm’s boutique approach, noting they prioritize close, individualized relationships with clients rather than operating like a factory.
With the acquisitions, the agency now represents 16 clients with projects screening at the Sundance Film Festival, including writer Oren Moverman (co‑writer of Face) and editor Sabine Hoffman (Rebecca Miller’s Personal Velocity).
Other notable clients on the roster include director of photography Patrick Cady (Girlfight; John Sayles’ Sunshine State), costume designer Kasia Maimone (recently on Mira Nair’s Hysterical Blindness), writer‑director Oren Moverman (co‑writer of Jesus’ Son) and editor Anne McCabe (You Can Count On Me).
On the commercials front, New York Office now represents directors and production companies such as Jeff Gorman, ARF & Co., Complete Pandemonium, Great Guns, Hum Music & Sound Design, IMC, Logan, Squeak Pictures, Red Car, VFX shop Smoke & Mirrors (contributors to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone), SubZero Music and Urban Myth Media.
